Richard J. With back to back wins at a tough Warrior River event, this angler hopes to have the momentum in his favor for the second half of the season. It's been a good run so far, however the goal is not to be the leader, but to finish at the top and win it all.

D. Witherspoon. With a second place finish on the Warrior spoon regains the #2 spot in the AOY chase. This guy stated that he's looking forward to the next event.

Ron Douglas. Getting away from what has worked in the past did not pan out for this angler on the Warrior. Ron took a chance and it cost him one spot in the standings. He won Mitchell in the season opener and he hopes to repeat his success there next month.

V. Medlock. This guy reported having a good practice and was very confident that a repeat was in the making. Vincent later stated that the bite changed and so did the outcome.

L. Summerville. After a disappointing event at the Warrior, Louis has his sights set on Mitchell Lake. Things are getting a lot more tighter especially with Butler making his way to the top six. Louis is looking to seperate himself .
Bryan Butler. The 2008 AOY has fought is way into the top six. With a third place finish on the Warrior this guy hopes to turn things around in the second half of the season.

Jackie Price. This is the guy that's on the bubble. However, this guy has said that he plans to be back in the top six after Lake Mitchell. That means somebody has to go. The question is who will it be?

Miree Squire,
Rocket City Bass Assassins

Goldenrods met the Assassins at the Rainbow landing for the 6th annual "Grudge Match" The Assassins prevailed and tied the series wins at three a piece. In the absent of their president Jeff Pincheon, the Assassins were led by none other than Miree Squire who landed four bass weighing in at 13Lbs. This bag would have placed well with other events that were taking place at Neely this weekend. Miree reported that his best bite came on a Lucky Craft silent running crankbait that dived to 4 feet. Miree's catch was anchored with the big fish of the event a 6Lb 1oz largemouth. Two other Assassins also contributed to the win. John Pea had one bass weighing 2Lbs 2ozs and Ronald Stillman weighed in one bass at 1Lb 8ozs. Final standings: Bass Assassins-16Lbs 10ozs. Golden Rod -5Lbs 50zs
This event started out six years ago as the "Annual Shootout" between two minority clubs. Golden Rod Bassmasters took the first three wins at Guntersville, Logan Martin, and Pickwick. The Rocket City Bass Assassins rallied back to win the last three events, two at Guntersville and this one at Neely Henry. In the mist of all this the title of "Grudge Match" was formed. Along with this a lot has transpired between the two clubs, unity, comroderie, and most of all friendship. These guys are a class act and we enjoy each event that we are forunate to have.
Miree Squire said it best "This tournament is the highlight of our season" and it is the same for us. Congratulations again to Jeff Pincheon and the Bass Assassins for their victory and thanks to all you guys for the opportunity to compete. We look forward to seeing you all again and until then be safe, keep em wet, and GOD bless.
