RON WINS THE OPENER AT MITCHELL
February 20, 2010
Lake Mitchell
Water temp: 41-50
Landing: Higgins Ferry
Today was a day for hard fishing. You had to bring your A game for this lake. Micthell is known for holding some of the larger spotted bass on the Coosa Chain. Presentation was the key in catching fish today. Running DD12's was not working for some. A lot of the fish were caught on secondary points and bluff walls using plastics.
Ron was able to brave the weather and bring in a five bass limit weighing 12 Lbs 1oz to take the win. Richard took second with a limit weighing 9 Lbs 5 ozs. Jackie rounded out the top three with two bass weighing 6 Lbs 13 ozs, Jackie also took big fish honors with a 4 Lb largemouth.
In some places the water temperature went up to 50 degrees. Mitchell has proven to be a hard lake to fish during the cold weather months.
